A man’s body has been found floating in a major river on the Sunshine Coast, within view of homes and roads.
Queensland Police said a member of the public called in what they believed to be a body floating in the Maroochy River under a bridge, believed to be the Sunshine Mwy Bridge, in Maroochydore about 8.30am on Thursday.
Paramedics called to the scene near Bradman Ave left a short time later, with firefighters assisting police to retrieve the body and bring it to shore.

Detectives remain at the scene and have yet to identify the body.
“We are not treating the death as suspicious at this time,” a police spokesperson added.
Earlier this week, fisherman Matthew Balange, 43, went missing off the coast at nearby Mooloolaba. He has not been found.
Balange’s boat was discovered off Cape Moreton on Monday with the engine still running — with Coast Guards suggesting he may have fallen into the water while pulling in a fish and the boat continued on without him.
The body was spotted by members of the public. Credit: 7NEWS
