A body believed to be that of a missing swimmer has been pulled from a popular WA swimming spot where authorities have been desperately searching since Sunday.
An emergency rescue operation was triggered when a 23-year-old went missing in Stockton Lake, near the town of Collie, at 3.15pm on Sunday.
Sometime during his swim, the man required assistance, but several witnesses on the shore were unable to help.

On Monday, police divers recovered the body of a man in water about 20 metres from the bank.
Police believe the body belongs to the missing swimmer and said his family had been advised of the tragic development.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
The incident comes four years after Perth man John Rashidi died at the same swimming spot while using an inflatable pool toy.
Stockton Lake, once an open-cut mine that has since been filled with water, is located just over two hours southeast of Perth.
It is understood access to the lake and campground remains closed on Monday.
